https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=771564 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=771564#c0 Summary: YaST2 not changing default boot entry in Grub2 Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.2 Version: RC 1 Platform: i586 OS/Version: openSUSE 12.2 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: YaST2 AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: carlos.lange@ualberta.ca QAContact: jsrain@suse.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- Created an attachment (id=498673) --> (http://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=498673) unmodified grub.cfg User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/22.0.1190.0 Safari/537.1 SUSE/22.0.1190.0 When editing the boot loader configuration in YaST2, the selection of a different entry in the Default Boot Section, say an older version of openSUSE on a separate partition, does not cause any change in grub.cfg. The default does not change from the current 12.2 RC1 version. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open YaST2 / System / Boot Loader / Boot Loader Settings / Boot Loader Options. 2. Change Default Boot Section (originally blank) to new section. OK. OK. 3. Check /boot/grub2/grub.cfg: file saved with new time, but no changes. 4. Reboot. Actual Results: /boot/grub2/grub.cfg is saved after the YaST2 window is closed, but there is no change in the content (see attached grub.cfg). Therefore, boot continues to default to the newly installed 12.2 version. Expected Results: /boot/grub2/grub.cfg should be changed to reflect the change in the default. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
