I've looked through the upstream commits to atlx/ between 2.6.38-rc4..net-next
but found nothing obvious to address your problem. As we do not have an atl1
card to test further I'm going to close this as WONTFIX.
If you or someone else experiences this problem again, please reopen the bug.
In particular, it would be great to know if the problem is in the actual speed
negociated by the card or simply in the reporting of the current speed by
ethtool. If the other end is a managed device you could grab the speed
settings from it. Otherwise you could plug a laptop or other computer directly
in there and see what it reports. If none of that is possible, you could run a
speed test with eg. netperf.
