Still a problem for me on a Thinkpad T420s with openSUSE 12.1 and
upower-0.9.14-2.1.2.x86_64. upower returns bogus values for the battery charge
after a suspend, just checked on Windows 7 that in fact the battery is still
full.
"upower -d" outputs after a resume:

A short time after the resume, the battery charge is reported to drop from 67%
to 5%; the computer threatens to make an emergency suspend afterwards. This
makes working with a notebook without a power cable VERY cumbersome.
(I don't know if that matters: The upper threshold for charging the battery is
set to 80% (using a Windows tool).)
