Summary: something is wrong with libxcb... breaks

Status: NEW
Severity: Major

Yesterday I updated FACTORY after a long time.
With disastrous results:
GNOME3 does not start
XFCE does not start.

Investigating, I found the issue:

seife@susi:~> metacity
metacity: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib64/
undefined symbol: xcb_aux_get_screen

libxcb-util is there but not loaded :-(

seife@susi:~> ldd `which metacity`|grep xcb => /usr/lib64/ (0x00007f43f7234000) => /usr/lib64/ (0x00007f43f7032000) => /usr/lib64/ (0x00007f43f6e15000)

I "fixed" it by putting "export LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib64/" into
/etc/profile.local, but this is just a workaround.

Is this a transient failure until libstartup-notification has been rebuilt or
does this need a proper fix?

CC'ing the GNOME team, as they might encounter some fallout from this issue
