[Bug 731867] gdm hangs after Tumbleweed base update from 11.4 to 12.1

--- Comment #23 from Walter Haidinger <walter.haidinger@xxxxxx> 2012-01-20

Created an attachment (id=472015)
--> (
gdm debug logs and strace output

Added logfile with debugging enabled (comment #10).

Also added an strace output of gdm. It hangs at line #27834.
Lines afterwards are mouse movement (busy clock). Hope that helps.

* I'm also seeing the failed call of bin/plymouth and the
permission denied errors regarding pam
* no autologin
* pam config is unchanged (checked with rpm -V)
* I'm using ldap for authentication but this doesn't be the issue,
all users are found by gdm (fooNNN) and id <ldap-user> also works,
as does lxdm with ldap-users.
* Checked package list with: rpm -q -a --last
Almost all packages are from opensuse 12.1, only some old gpg-pubkey* rpms
and obsolete packman packages (e.g. openswan, libx264), nothing relevant,
* rcxdm start/stop still works from another virtual console.
