https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=725844 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=725844#c0 Summary: Zypper should have an equivalent to "apt-cache policy" Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.1 Version: Factory Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Enhancement Priority: P5 - None Component: Other AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: ploum@ploum.net QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:7.0.1) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/7.0.1 In Debian and Ubuntu, "apt-cache policy xxx" will give you all the versions available for package xxx, each one with its repository. If one is installed, it is marked. The list is sorted by priority order so you know which one will be installed. If your local version has a lower version than a remote version, you know that xxx will be updated with the next update. I haven't found an equivalent in Zypper and it's the only thing I really miss in Zypper so far.
