I don't even know what is caribou :-) ======================================================================== Neil Rickert 2011-10-05 00:25:51 CEST Yes, I have seen this. Caribou is, supposedly, an on-screen keyboard for gnome. Whenever KDE is started, it prompts whether to activate. Saying "NO" does not prevent the same prompt on the next KDE login. If I say "YES", then I get a message that Caribou failed to start. This message is repeated for every KDE login. If I try to remove Caribou, I am told that it is a dependency of gnome shell so cannot be removed. [reply] [-] Private Comment 2 Neil Rickert 2011-10-05 03:26:07 CEST I managed to turn off that annoying message. I logged into XFCE and in the settings manager there, I set caribou to not be autostarted. That seems to have turned off the message for both XFCE and KDE. I have not noticed any bad effects in gnome3, but I am not sure where to look for that. I think the main change that XFCE made was to create a file "$HOME/.config/autostart/caribou-autostart.desktop" containing the following two lines ----start here---- [Desktop Entry] Hidden=true ----end here---- -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
