https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=721321 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=721321#c0 Summary: [NetApp CQ216400 ] QLogic FC HBA fails to mount root filesystem after SANboot Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: SLES 11 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel AssignedTo: kernel-maintainers@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: sean.stewart@netapp.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64) AppleWebKit/535.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/14.0.835.186 Safari/535.1 After installing SLES 11 SP 2 on a storage array, connected with a QLogic HBA (2462 or 2562), the system boots, but the root filesystem fails to mount, making the system unable to finish booting. The exact same procedure with one of the same systems was verified to work with SLES 11 SP 1. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install SLES 11 SP 2 to a SAN storage device over a QLogic FC HBA 2. Try to boot to the device Actual Results: The HBA boot succeeds and the OS starts to load. When it comes time to mount the root filesystem, the root device cannot be found. Expected Results: The proper SCSI and FC drivers should be loaded and the OS should be able to see the root device to mount it. The exact same thing happens with QLE2562 and QLE2462 HBAs. I also tried SLES 11 SP 1 with one of these systems, and it succeeded. Also, other brands of FC HBAs do not experience this problem. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
