sorry for the excessive long lack of response - I don't know what happened.
I cannot reproduce this.
# ./mdadm -V
mdadm - v3.0.3 - 22nd October 2009
# ./mdadm -A --no-degraded /dev/md0
mdadm: /dev/md0 assembled from 2 drives (out of 3), but not started.
It will start the array in some cases, but only if it has been previously been
running degraded, in which case there is no loss.
If you can still reproduce this and would like me to follow up, please show me
the "mdadm --examine" description of all the available devices, then the output
of
mdadm --assemble --no-degraded --verbose /dev/md0
Otherwise I guess we'll just have to close the bug.
