Summary: rkhunter cron script sends email without 'To:' header
and often gets rejected by anti-spam rules
Classification: openSUSE
Product: openSUSE 11.4
Version: Factory
Platform: All
OS/Version: openSUSE 11.4
Status: NEW
Severity: Minor
Priority: P5 - None
Component: Security
AssignedTo: security-team@xxxxxxx
ReportedBy: podpora@xxxxxxxxx
QAContact: qa@xxxxxxx
Found By: ---
Blocker: ---

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:6.0.2) Gecko/20100101
Firefox/6.0.2

When rkhunter cron script '/etc/cron.daily/suse.de-rkhunter' sends an email, it
uses '/usr/sbin/sendmail' directly which doesn't provide all the headers (like
'To: '.

This could cause the email to be rejected by anti-spam rules (as it did for
us).

We use 'rkhunter' from
http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/security/openSUSE_Factory/

We changed the script to add a 'To: ' header, which now works for us - but it
would be good to consider other headers that might be relevant as well.
