LiveCD installs fail to boot (maybe from mkinitrd problem)

Reproducible: Always

Steps To Reproduce:
1. do default install from current (Build0240) KDE-LiveCD

Actual Results:
bootloader and initrd run, but fail to mount rootfs so panics without

last seen working in Build0220 2011-08-19
first seen failing in Build0233 2011-08-26

log has some interesting entries:

boot/ line 24: /config/ No such file or directory
mount -o rw -t sysfs /dev/disk/by-id/ata-QEMU_HARDDISK_QM00001-part2 /root
No init found. Try passing init= option to the kernel.
