Hello all

I posted this (see link below) on the forum hoping that it would be
caught by Suse/Novel and fixed. However the latest kernel update has indicated
that my post has gone unnoticed. Please read the post. I think it tells the
important details.

In summary the Ethernet driver r8169 does not work with the latest
realtek chips. This is a bug in the kernel according to some links posted to
the above thread. The resolution is simple, the latest r8168 driver from
realtek is the fix. I think that kernel updates and other product offerings
should use the r8168 driver until either the kernel is fixed or r8169 driver is

As a favor could someone comment on the value of r8169 in the above
post? Is there some advanced features that make this driver desirable?
