CPU: Intel(R) Pentium(R) M processor 1.70GHz RAM: 2.0 GiB OS: Linux 2.6.37.6-0.5-default i686 KDE: 4.6.00 (4.6.0) "release 6" Video: ATI Technologies Inc - Radeon LW 2D driver: radeon 3D driver: R100 classic (7.10.2) Booting: Using Laptop Monitor: Screen display is Normal. Using External Monitor: Goes blank after grub menu selection and doesn't light up again till it's time to log in. Normal Usage: Using Laptop Monitor: All works well. Using External Monitor: All's well until I press Ctrl+Alt+F1. The external monitor goes blank and the new session appears on the laptop monitor only. Pressing Ctrl+Alt+F7 returns the KDE desktop display to the External Monitor. On one forum I was told to add nomodeset to the boot options. This seemed to work at first but I found later that the system would lock up tight any time I pointed the cursor at the KDE task bar. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Boot T42 with External Monitor 2. Log In to KDE 3. Press Ctrl+Alt+F1 Actual Results: External Monitor Goes Blank. Laptop Screen Lights up with the character bases session. Expected Results: displayed the character based session on the external monitor. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
