https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=695568 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=695568#c0 Summary: Sound Headaches Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.4 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.4 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Usability AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: n5xwb@comcast.net QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:5.0a2) Gecko/20110510 Firefox/5.0a2 Zypper was lacking file and now has caused me to reload from a NET install Problem is KDE and it darn dummy audio device. I have set it up as root with yast2 hardware in runlevel 3 (not 5) and the sound works. Not the same in KDE, I I setup via multimedia after rebooting still only has "dummy". My guess is permissions again so I set the user in /etc/group Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Bring up X in runlevel 3 2.call up Configure Desktop then choose Multimedia go to Phonon 3. Actual Results: 1.Dummy 2 GF108 (grayed out) 3.Internal Audio (grayed out) Expected Results: I would hope to be able to select GF108 and then run Test I also note that due to this headache that the KDE sound at boot time is not working It does appear that openSuSE is only supporting runlevel 5 - not everyone likes XDM, GDM or KDMs. and likely never see all of the bootup screen errors. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
