I am unable to reproduce this crash.
My experience is that DocumentConverter.py is unstable when you have more CPUs
or CPU cores. I guess that there are some problems with synchronization between
threads. Such bugs are pretty hard to fix.
Could you please try the new commnadline options of the soffice.bin binary?
libreoffice -convert-to pdf test.html
or
libreoffice -convert-to odt test.html
libreoffice -convert-to pdf test.odt
See /usr/lib/libreoffice/program/soffice.bin -help for more details. You could
play with the options: -convert-to, -infilter, -print-to-file, and -headless
