https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=686786 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=686786#c0 Summary: desktop-data-openSUSE makes KDE3's kcontrol empty on 11.4 Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.4 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Other AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: anixx@opensuse.org QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; ru; rv:1.9.1.18) Gecko/20110320 SUSE/2.0.13-1.1 SeaMonkey/2.0.13 This is a major problem, reported by all users who use KDE3. It was also reproduced in SUSE Studio. After a fresh install of openSUSE 11.4 with KDE3, kcontrol is shown empty without any modules, but if started separately the modules work well. An investigation of a user http://unixforum.org/index.php?showtopic=123223&view=findpost&p=1149112 pointed to the package desktop-data-openSUSE, since if to install this package from openSUSE 11.3 kcontrol worked well. Further investigation revealed the origin of the bug: a line <Directory>Hidden.directory</Directory> was removed from the file /etc/xdg/menus/applications.menu I am currently preparing the patch. Please accept the patch to openSUSE 11.4 and in the project's GIT repository.
