https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=686008 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=686008#c0 Summary: Gigaset driver lacks CAPI support Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.4 Version: Final Platform: x86 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.4 Status: NEW Severity: Enhancement Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel AssignedTo: kernel-maintainers@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: tilman@imap.cc QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; de; rv:1.9.2.16) Gecko/20110319 SUSE/3.6.16-0.2.1 Firefox/3.6.16 Quoting from http://gigaset307x.sourceforge.net/ : "Starting with kernel release 2.6.34.2, the Gigaset driver has optional support for the kernel CAPI 2.0 subsystem and popular CAPI 2.0 applications such as pppd with capiplugin, Asterisk with chan_capi, capifax or jAnrufmonitor. Support for ISDN4Linux applications is maintained via the compatibility module capidrv.ko. CAPI support is controlled by the kernel configuration option GIGASET_CAPI. Although still marked as experimental, enabling that option in releases 2.6.34.2 and later." The kernel of openSUSE 11.4 is still compiled with: CONFIG_ISDN_DRV_GIGASET=m # CONFIG_GIGASET_CAPI is not set CONFIG_GIGASET_I4L=y which means openSUSE users are deprived the benefits of CAPI. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Start openSUSE. 2. Connect a Gigaset SX255 base via USB. 3. Run the capiinit and capiinfo commands. Actual Results: No CAPI 2.0 controller detected. Expected Results: Gigaset detected as CAPI 2.0 controller. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
