This is making the system almost unusable, since although it still responds, it does so very slowly and I can't even shut it down. I tested several times, it occurs only when unplugging, /var/log/messages does not show anything. I am now compiling a vanilla kernel to test further; I fsck'd the disk from a livecd and it's all ok.
