--- Comment #19 from Bruce Samhaber 2011-03-24 14:11:41 UTC ---
Correction: based on the Xorg.0.log.old file the system was not booted in
failsafe mode, see the fifth line
[ 35.262] Kernel command line:
root=/dev/disk/by-id/ata-FUJITSU_MHT2040AH_NP0JT4C2JNNF-part3
resume=/dev/disk/by-id/ata-FUJITSU_MHT2040AH_NP0JT4C2JNNF-part2 vga=0x342
The following errors were reported when Xorg starts, but then it worked fine
for over two days. Unfortuneately there are no time stamps to know if any of
these messages are from just before the crash.
[ 35.439] (EE) Failed to load module "fglrx" (module does not exist, 0)
[ 35.877] (EE) No input driver/identifier specified (ignoring)
[ 35.883] (EE) No input driver/identifier specified (ignoring)
[ 35.901] (EE) No input driver/identifier specified (ignoring)
[ 35.902] (EE) ioctl EVIOCGNAME failed: Inappropriate ioctl for device
[ 35.902] (EE) PreInit returned NULL for "TPPS/2 IBM TrackPoint"
[ 35.903] (EE) No input driver/identifier specified (ignoring)
What should I be looking for?
If I do not receive anyother input then I will try to open a case with Xorg and
try to load the fglrx module, whatever it is.
