However I installed the update but the problem still exists. I have to run yast- network wlan to get the card working. It looks to me that yast is not filling in the right module during boot.
Yast is only editing the configuration file /etc/sysconfig/network/ifcfg-wlan0. The module is determined by the "aliases". To learn which module supports your card run lspci and find out the VID;PID of the wlan adapter [1,2]. In this case you can see that the "Intel Corporation WiFi Link 5100" with the VID:PID of [8086:4232] is driven by the module iwlagn. Then you can double-check and see that the iwlagn supports the [8086:4232] adapter. It would be good to check your adapter the same way and take a look at the ath3k/ath9k aliases as well.
