Hi Michal,
no problem. every working person needs vacations. I hope you enjoyed them. But
you didn't ask for this.

I configured the wlan interface via the tradtional method (ifup) by yast. And I
did not touch those files by hand, any configuration occured via yast.

I accidentally stumbled across the fact that the permissions are as I denoted
before. And be assured, the WIRELESS_WPA_PASSWORD can be found in that file -
otherwise I would not have mentioned. On my netbook at home this denotes 0600
root.root, as written in #2

IMHO there is absolutely no need for anyone but root to access those files, so
I would never distinguish - just set all ifcfg-XXX files to 0400 root.root and
_this_ issue is fixed.
