Summary: virt-manager can't create kvm virtual Machines on a
remote host
Classification: openSUSE
Product: openSUSE 11.3
Version: Final
Platform: Other
OS/Version: Other

Severity: Major

I setup libvirtd to allow remote connections to my VMs. Connecting and
authenticating to the libvirtd with virt-manager from a remote client works
fine. But once a try to create a virtual machine on that host vm-install is
started and always will try to create the virtual machine on localhost instead
of creating it on the remote host.

For the fun of it I build myself virt-manager package that have the patch that
enables vm-install support disabled. And with those packages everything seems
to work as expected when creating VMs on a remote machine. What's the reason we
are patching in vm-install into virt-manager, when it means losing one of the
core features for libvirt/virt-manager?
