http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=615734 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=615734#c0 Summary: Multiple requests for authentication when adding printer Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.3 Version: Factory Platform: i586 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.3 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Printing AssignedTo: jsmeix@novell.com ReportedBy: civil@bigpond.com QAContact: jsmeix@novell.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.2.4) Gecko/20100527 SUSE/3.6.4-2.2 Firefox/3.6.4 There appears to be an annoying, although non-fatal, bug in the printer handling process. The symptoms are repeated requests for authentication. Two such requests need to be cleared before getting to the stage of seeking drivers for the printers identified as being connected. Once the point has been reached at which a driver has been selected, and the printer name and location edited, hitting the "apply" button leads to an apparently endless sequence of requests for authentication (at least twenty - I am nothing if not persistent). Hitting the "cancel" button on the authentication panel to escape from the loop reveals that the printer has, in fact, been added correctly, and that the name and location edits have been recorded properly. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Go to Control Centre > Printer 2.Select "Add" 3.Proceed Expected Results: There should be no need for more than one request for authentication (prior to adding each new printer). -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
