http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=599901 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=599901#c0 Summary: RHEL kernel module packages build on x86_64 but not i586 Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE.org Version: unspecified Platform: i586 OS/Version: RHEL 5 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: BuildService AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: andavis@novell.com QAContact: adrian@novell.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- I have a project which builds a simple kernel module package for both openSUSE Factory and RHEL 5. The project's spec file uses standard macros which should be recognized by both openSUSE Factory and RHEL 5. Everything works fine on openSUSE Factory i586 and x86_64 and RHEL 5 x86_64. But the macros are not being recognized for the RHEL 5 i586 build. The package is "sampledriver" in the home:andavis:samplesystem project. If you look at the failed build log for the RHEL 5 i586 build, you can see the error. This error is caused by the fact that the RHEL 5 i586 build is not recognizing the "BuildRequires: kernel_module_package_buildreqs" macro setting. Is there something I should set to make the RHEL 5 i586 build understand the macros in the same way that the RHEL 5 x86_64 build does? Or is this something that has to be set on the build server end?
