When I merge your xrdb output into my X server's ressources, I get the "unknown
color name" error even on 11.2. So, it looks like there was a change in the
desktop (KDE?) between 11.2 and 11.3, which causes it to put these undefined
color names into the ressource dtabase.

BTW, this affects other X applications as well:
~ $ xterm
Warning: Color name "WINDOW_BACKGROUND" is not defined
~ $ xeyes
Warning: Color name "BACKGROUND" is not defined

Please reassign to the maintainers of the desktop you are using.
