Status: NEW
Severity: Normal

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; fr; rv:1.9.1.9)
Gecko/20100317 SUSE/3.5.9-0.1.1 Firefox/3.0.3, Ant.com Toolbar 1.1

demo dvd, openSUSE 11.2, 32 bits

on an old IDE disk, HP/Compaq system with IDE/SATA, parted (parted magic) and
YaST are not able to open the disk to change partitionning when fdisk and
cfdisk can do very easily. Parted sees no partition.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. launch yast, get:

The partitioning on disk /dev/sda is not readable by
the partitioning tool parted, which is used to change the
partition table.
You can use the partitions on disk /dev/sda as they are.
You can format them and assign mount points to them, but you
cannot add, edit, resize, or remove partitions from that
disk with this tool.

2.fdisk or cfdisk works.
