[Bug 597774] installation on second of three disks fails to boot

I rebooted my test machine with kernel of Milestone 5 (2.6.34-rc3-3-default)
and I see that /sys/block/sda/range is 0 while it was 16 with kernel on 11.2.
Maybe /sys/block/sda/range is discontinued by kernel and you should/could
use ext_range instead which is 256 for kernel in 11.2 and Milestone 5.
