there is no real error message. If the machine boots, it simply prints:
"GRUB Loading, please wait ..." and then nothing happens anymore except for a
blinking cursor which does not react on any keystrokes.
The machine did not freeze, because CAPS LOCK still works and I can soft-reset
it but it's not booting.

I tried ext3 and ext4 both with the same result.
