Those messages should appear in the 'dmesg' output - $ dmesg > /tmp/foo and
attach that - it would be most helpful :-)

And yes - please do sprinkle the code with them. It is possible that Factory
has some devices pre-populated in /dev that we use the absence of to detect
whether we are in an initrd or not.

Can you also attach your /boot/grub/menu.lst (are you using an initrd?).
