So the question is, why are the array members aligned differently with gcc 4.5?
The traversal code still thinks that they should be one-after-another and
doesn't do anything fancy:

#define for_each_event(event, start, end) \
for (event = start; \
(unsigned long)event < (unsigned long)end; \
event++)
