--- Comment #11 from Dr. Werner Fink 2010-02-23 08:35:59 UTC ---
Then /etc/gdm/Xsession is buggy:
The script /etc/X11/xdm/GiveDevices is executed by /etc/X11/xdm/Xstartup
The script /etc/X11/xdm/TakeDevices is executed by /etc/X11/xdm/Xreset
The script /etc/X11/xdm/Xstartup its self is executed by the display manager
*before* any user scripts will be executed and this is done with root owner
ship and permissions, for XDM this is done with DisplayManager.*.startup.
The script /etc/X11/xdm/Xreset its self is executed by the display manager
*after* any user scripts was executed and this is done with root owner ship
and permissions, for XDM this is done with DisplayManager.*.reset.
This should be corrected .. Vincent?
IMHO:
/etc/X11/xdm/XSetup -> /etc/gdm/Init/Default
/etc/X11/xdm/Xstartup -> /etc/gdm/PreSession/Default
/etc/X11/xdm/Xreset -> /etc/gdm/PostSession/Default
and hopefully *no* one of the above scripts will be executed with the
users owner ship and permissions.
For the X Session its self I guess
/etc/X11/xdm/Xsession -> /etc/gdm/Xsession
