http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=580820 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=580820#c0 Summary: lid close suspend only works sporadically Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: Final Platform: x86 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.2 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: ailin.nemui@gmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; zh-CN; rv:1.9.2.0) Gecko/20100115 SUSE/3.6.0-1.2 Firefox/3.6 When I close the laptop lid, the system sometimes suspends -- and sometimes not. This is highly irritating since it stops me from closing the laptop and shoving it into the bag. I'm not sure if this is related to bug 560631, I'm not using KDE. A similar bug 535445 has been marked as a dup where suspend doesn't work at all. Here are some facts: I'm using GNOME desktop on an Asus Eee-PC 1000H. Suspend to RAM always worked thus far using the GNOME Power-off menu. Suspend sometimes works and sometimes doesn't when closing the lid, making this bug annoying to reproduce. It worked reliably on openSUSE 11.1 After distribution upgrade, I'm now running 2.6.31.12-0.1-desktop kernel (was 2.6.31.8-0.1-default before) After lid close, the screen always gets locked, requiring me to enter the password. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1. In GNOME desktop, close laptop lid. 2. See if it goes to sleep. 3. Actual Results: Sometimes it suspends, sometimes not. Expected Results: Should reliably suspend. Unfortunately I haven't found any hints as to *when* it doesn't work. Any help appreciated. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
