The SynCE project looks unmaintained. The last update is nearly two years old
and is only to announce that it's the patched driver. The last update before
that was in 2007.

The in-kernel driver already has a similar fix:

Can you try this?

Load the rndis_host module if it isn't already.

run "echo +p > /sys/kernel/debug/dynamic_debug/control"

then plug in your device. Use it as you have been, but there should be
additional output when things go wrong. Please attach that to the bug.
