OK, I tried it in 11.2. Kerry still show ugly, totally unreadable opening
screen ( ), it still gives
no results, always crashes upon any attempt to alter beagle configuration
(except starting or stopping the daemon), so, it's absolutely unusable.
Kio_beagle now always complains about that it cannot start some I/O subprocess
and NEVER gives any resuls. Also unusable.

Finally, I was able to start strigi with sesame backend, but it started now to
heavily load the cpu and disk system by constant rescanning of it indexes
(initial indexing took about a whole day), and it's virtually unable to find
anything else than plain text files when searchin for content. In addition,
nepoumuk desktop freezes dolphin when I want to change notes and rating (number
of stars) for a file simultaneously. It means that this nepomuk/strigi stiff is
also unusable.

As far as I can remember, openSUSE 10.3 with KDE 3 was the last openSUSE
version with an usable desktop search system under KDE (but beagle was a bit
buggy then, so I had to delete some files which freezed beagle daemon during
being indexed).

My colleagues, using Windows have the time to innovate and invent new
solutions, but as for me, most of my time is spent by finding and reporting
bugs (I had to do several hundred reports, during the last few years, most of
them still unsolved) and finding workarounds for them. In KDE, there is no
working desktop search, virtual terminal, networking system, bluetooth
subsystem, even the calculator is broken, etc. And to my greatest surprise,
when testing KDE 4.4.0 yesterday, I had to realize that even more things got
broken now.

Could you just integrate some working desktop search system into KDE? :(((((((
