After creating the VM, I briefly see 100% CPU on Dom0, then back to normal, while the DomU displays a plausible CPU usage pattern for a while, until it jumps to 100% and stays there. The console shows a black screen with a non-blinking cursor in the upper left corner. A quick web search reveals no real success stories with openSUSE 11.2, but many similar problems, so I guess this is a real bug.
