http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=564323 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=564323#c0 Summary: Suspend/powersave configuration problems after Update from 11.1 to 11.2 Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: Final Platform: x86 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.2 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Update Problems AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: carthexis@yahoo.de QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; Konqueror/3.5) KHTML/3.5.9 (like Gecko) SUSE After an update (via zypper dist-upgrade, mind you!) suspend (to-disk and to-ram) does not work anymore via the KDE4 power manager widget/applet suspend-to-disk (or RAM) button. All it does is to lock the screen. Suspend itself works fine, using pm-hibernate (as root) the system can succesfully be supended (and resumed). I therefore suspect that some configuration has been messed up in the update process. Unfortunately I cannot really follow what the button in the KDE applet triggers, the log file /var/log/pm-suspend.log is unaffected by it. However, if I issue a suspend via the command line, i get a strange error: user@machine> powersave -u Error org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.UnknownMethod: Method "Suspend" with signature "i" on interface "org.freedesktop.Hal.Device.SystemPowerManagement" doesn't exist Reproducible: Always -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
