Motivation: smbfs is since quite some time no longer part of the kernel. The cifs component has replaced it. Keeping the old smbfs service name confuses users. While the upgrade of the samba-client package on any system newer than SUSE 11.2 we detect if we're coming from a version which used smbfs, save the state of the service (start on boot?), migrate /etc/samba/smbfstab to /etc/samba/cifstab, and finally restore the service state if required.
