Hmm - as far as I understand the comments above this line in main.cf the name isn't even meant to be used literally. It is only an example to illustrate the syntax for specifying home mailboxes in maildir (with a slash at the end) and mailbox (without a slash) format. --- snip --- # DELIVERY TO MAILBOX # # The home_mailbox parameter specifies the optional pathname of a # mailbox file relative to a user's home directory. The default # mailbox file is /var/spool/mail/user or /var/mail/user.
