http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=553352 Summary: Display Manager Login Settings no option to prompt without suggesting user Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: RC 2 Platform: x86 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.2 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: GNOME AssignedTo: bnc-team-gnome@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: casualprogrammer@gmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.1.4) Gecko/20091016 SUSE/3.5.4-1.1.2 Firefox/3.5.4 As everything about Linux is sold so security happy, it seems odd, that apart from autologon and passwordless logon no other options are available. There should be a (default) logon dialog offering nothing but empty input fields for user and password. Likewise it's somewhat less than optimal, that a user gets suggested, and only on clicking on it or hitting return you can then enter the password. This should be one instance. It always is insecure to show what there is in the first place. Please think twice.
