http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=550721 Summary: nscd get confused on name resolution. DNS server resolves name correctly but cached infor is incorrect. Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Final Platform: x86 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.1 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Network AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: eclay@novell.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Consulting I have an Acer Aspire One A0531h that has an Intel Atom processor in it. I have noticed that periodically nscd get confused about what DNS name gets resolved to an IPaddress. For instance I launched firefox and it attempts to go to it's default webpage, opensue.org, instead it goes to my clayeweb.org webserver. I checked my DNS server and it could resolve the name correctly and other machines on the network could resolve it ok. My DNS server is XEN VM running openSUSE 11.1 with current patches. The fix for this problem is to stop nscd and start it again. Then name resolution works properly. I have been running my DNS server for years on some version of suse and have never seen this problem. I won't rule it out but will need help deciphering what the problem is. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
