I'm almost always sure that the problem is because of the kernel (maybe the hso
driver itself), and not becuase of suse patch, since the vanilla kernel behaves
exactly the same way. I was able to run openSUSE 11.1 on openSUSE 11.2's
kernel.
openSUSE 11.1 with it's own kernel worked perfecly, but on openSUSE 11.2's
kernel it produced exactly the same issues as written above.
When I load the hso kernel module with the option debug=1, I get some
interesting additional info in dmesg during connection failures:
