BIOS Setup message only after leaving SuSE. No other OS-es create this problem

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.0.8)
Gecko/2009032600 SUSE/3.0.8-1.3 Firefox/3.0.8

PC with multiple operating systems installed crashes during the POST memory
test only following the shutdown or restart from SuSE 11.2 (11.1 had the same
problem).

I have installed multiple O/S-es on my PC, XP Pro SP3, W7RC trial, Ubuntu 9.04
Fedora 11 and SuSE 11.2

I frequently use other O/S-es but firmware problem occurs only after I exit
from SuSE.

After POST failure, the only way to restart my PC is to turn off the power
switch and wait for few moments. Following this, when I enter the Setup in
BIOS, I often (but not always) get the following error:

"The system has experienced boot failures because of overclocking or changes of
voltage.
Last settings in this page may not coincide with current H/W states."

Sysinfo:

PC: Home made
Mobo: Gigabyte GA-EP45T-UD3P Rev 1.0
RAM: Corsair TW3X4G13333C9DHX G (DD3 4GB Interlaced)
CPU: Intel Core Duo E8500 3.16GHz
Video: GeForce 9500 GT
H/D: 1 x Western Digital WD10EACS
1 x Samsung HD501LJ
DVD: 2 x LG GH22NS30
BIOS: Award (vintage 2008, F7 , last available BIOS update)

To eliminate possibility of faulty memory or any compatibility issues, I have
extensively tested the memory with Memtest and Windiag with no erros found. I
have also used two different brands of DDR3 RAM for testing.

I do not overclock my MoBo and always load the Failsafe defaults following the
problems after exiting from SuSE.

I have tried to disable all options in BIOS which would allow dynamic
overclocking by O/S, but this did not bring the end to the POST memory test
problems. I built this system back in March, and all my O/S-es except Fedora
are installed since then. No other O/S-es cause this problem to occur.

MY USER PROFILE:

I am an IT professional and home PC enthusiast. I have built all my PCs in the
past 10+ years and have fair experience with system hardware and various
operating systems, as well as the troubleshooting.

I have used SuSE in the past. I have first installed pre-Novell v7.2. I have
also used SuSE 10.n on my previous PC which was recently replaced with this
platform.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Shutdown or restart PC from SuSE (only)
2.After POST memory test fails, power off PC for several seconds and power on
3.POST memory test successfully passes
Actual Results:
As described above in steps 2 and 3

Expected Results:
Should not modify BIOS settings in CMOS, or at least it should restore the
original settings during shutdown. Problem has a potential to damage RAM and/or
CPU by incorrect overcloking (if overclocking indeed happens).
