Summary: unwarranted startup of gnome-keyring-daemon instances
Classification: openSUSE
Product: openSUSE 11.2
Version: Factory
Platform: x86-64
OS/Version: SuSE Other
Status: NEW
Severity: Major
Priority: P5 - None
Component: Basesystem

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.1.2)
Gecko/20090730 SUSE/3.5.2-2.3 Firefox/3.5.2

usual kde (4.3) user installed gnome* for testing. Returned to kde and observe
following:

gnome-keyring-daemon instances start on "init 3" w/o <user> logged in, only
root. In my case six instances start, three owned by <root> and three by
<user>, with associated directories/files in /tmp.

Approx every five minutes three to five more instances are created, about half
for <root> and for <user>, and associated directories/files in /tmp.

unable to resolve this issue, installed root cron job to delete
gnome-keyring-daemon instances and associated directories/file every 30
minutes.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.init 3 or init 5 from startup
2.
3.
Actual Results:
gnome-keyring-daemon instances start on "init 3" w/o <user> logged in, only
root. In my case six instances start, three owned by <root> and three by
<user>, with associated directories/files in /tmp.

Approx every five minutes three to five more instances are created, about half
for <root> and for <user>, and associated directories/files in /tmp.

Expected Results:
gnome-keyring-daemon should *not* start

rpm -e gnome-keyring-pam gnome-keyring-pam-32bit
has stopped the unwanted starting of gnome-keyring-daemon. Appears the problem
lies within the pam module.
