http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=531089 Summary: DVD image to large for conventional DVD+R sized media Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: Milestone 5 Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Other AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: s.handgraaf@xs4all.nl QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; nl; rv:1.9.1.2) Gecko/20090729 Firefox/3.5.2 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729) The image size of the full DVD install of OpenSuSE10.2 milestone 5 has a sector size of 4,703,469,568 Bytes. This will fit on conventional DVD-R media with 2,298,496 sectors * 2,048 Bytes. However, the official ISO/IEC size of DVD+R media is 2,295,104 sectors * 2,048 Bytes = 4,700,372,992 Bytes. As a result, the current image file of this image is to large to fit on DVD+R media. This blocks burning the installation image, thus the installation. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. obtain latest opensuse 11.2 milestone 5 full install DVD image 2. review the size of the image 3. review the ISO/IEC 17344:2005 standard for DVD+R media Actual Results: Not possible to burn image to DVD+R medium without manipulation of burn process or image size. Expected Results: DVD image size should follow conventional DVD media sizes for the smallest factor available (DVD+R media, 2,295,104 sectors = 4,700,372,992 bytes maximum). -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
