http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=526211 Summary: YaST: No UID is available for this type of user (User and Group Management) Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: YaST2 AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: thomas.schraitle@novell.com QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: Documentation Last release the following procedure worked, but now I've got an error message. Proceed as follows: 1. Start YaST and select the module "User and Group Management" 2. Select "Set Filter" -> "NIS Users" 3. Choose your name (in my case it was "toms") 4. Go to the "Details" tab. 5. Select an additional group, for example "vboxusers" or whatever you want to be part of. 6. Click on "Ok" Result: => YaST shows the error message: "No UID is available for this type of user" Interestingly, YaST shows indeed the user ID as "Nil". However, I've expected my user id there. Hope this helps. :-) -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
