http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=519508 Summary: Standard profile not correctly restored when being in another profile before Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.1 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Other AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: ralf.lehnert@tu-dresden.de QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Created an attachment (id=303212) --> (http://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=303212) the correct version of resolve.conf after reboot User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; de; rv:1.9.0.11) Gecko/2009060200 SUSE/3.0.11-0.1.1 Firefox/3.0.11 AutoPager/0.5.2.2 (http://www.teesoft.info/) I am using my Lenovo X200 notebook under 5 different profiles. When coming back from a profile to the standard profile "Office", I do not have the necessary entries of the nameservers at the end of "resolve.conf". (In this profile I have to use the old ifconfig due to fixed local IP-addresses.) After a reboot everything is fine. The correct entries should be nameserver 192.168.7.4 nameserver 192.168.7.5 In "/etc/sysconfig/network/config" the nameservers are correctly defined: ## Type: string ## Default: "" # # List of DNS nameserver IP addresses to use for host-name lookup. # NETCONFIG_DNS_STATIC_SERVERS="192.168.7.4 192.168.7.5" Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Boot and run in a profile different from "Office" 2. Boot in profile "Office" 3. Actual Results: Nameservers of the standard profile "office" are not set. Therefore I cannot check for Suse updates, cannot use Firefox (set to "network" "no proxy") Expected Results: DNS addresses should be set. After the first boot in the office, the last two entries are missing. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
