I agree it is a bit weird to use pointers this way, but it is not a bug (unless
the pointer to freed memory is unreferenced somewhere).

Note that every occurrence of such usage is in a function called
*uninitialize() so probably the pointers aren't dereferenced later (I did not
check it, though).

Therefore it's IMHO not worth to patch our libetpan - could you please discuss
this with libetpan upstream?

BTW libetpan-0.58 is out (and in Factory, too).
