If the machine does not even want to boot from the Install DVD, it is certainly
the BIOS that is confused, like suggested in comment #3.
I'd try (in this order)
- remove battery and power, wait for 10 minutes, reinsert battery and power,
try to boot again
- check if there is a special reset technique explained in the documentation of
the machine
- call Lenovo support and ask them for help.
I'd also not rule out broken hardware, wich might just have happened at the
time the machine suspended or tried to resume.
As long as neither GRUB nor the install DVD boots, there is unfortunately
nothing we can do here :-(
