Sorry for the poor summary, but I don't know what else to say.

When I log in, I get a little window popping up about "falling back to default"
audio hardware. Audio does not work. If I stop the sound system
(/etc/rc.d/sound stop), kill pulseaudio, and start the sound system, programs
like vlc work.

If I start a KDE app, like Juk, it will work, play one song, and then hang.
Sound is borked forver after until I do the little ritual above.

I have a "nVidia Corporation MCP55 High Definition Audio" device.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Stop sound.
2. kill pulseaudio
3. start sound.

Actual Results:
Sound works, unless someone starts pulseaudio

Expected Results:
Sound should just work without having to kill pulseaudio.
