I tried to install openSUSE 11.2 on a Fujitsu Primergy rx200s4
on a SATA RAID ( 1 disk RAID0 ) -
installation works except no bootrecord can be written.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Have a system with ESB2 / ICHXR and LSI firmware
2. Install openSUSE 11.2 on a SATA RAID

Actual Results:
There is no boot record written :
Error 22: No such partition

Expected Results:
Sucessful installation

I was able to bypass the problem with the missing bootrecord,
but afterwards the kernel was not able to access the root partition
( /dev/mapper/ddf1_......part4 ).
Ignoring that the system should have a RAID0 the system could be started
with root=/dev/sda4 .

I did similar tests with other SATA RAID ( Promise pdc ; Intel Matrix Storage
Manager isw ) - these tests were successful.

fedora 11 was able to write the bootrecord, but also in their case the system
came up without dmraid.
